[Zionism - Unrecorded]
This listing is an independent item not part of any collection
pp., 230:160 mm., light age staining.
Undated Hebrew-Russian song sheet expressing love of Zion. The cover (front page) is set in blue. At the top, from left to right, is a vignette of the Western Wall, a Magen David with the artistic word Zion in the center, and kever Rachel with a lone traveler approaching it on a camel. Below the text in Hebrew states Erez Moledet and Shir Zioni. A Jewsih star separates that text from the Cyrillic text below. On the inside the first page has the Hebrew text of the song Erez Moledet, with refrains indicated with the word BIS (until). On the facing page is the musical notes with headings Maestoso, Piano, and Fine. Under the musical notes are the words in Cyrillic. The final cover has brief information in Cyrillic. This appears to be an important piece of early Russian-Zionist literature, expressing the desire of Russian Jewry for Erez Israel before they were permitted to emigrate.
