Detailed
Description
Afternoon and evening prayers according to the rite of the Jews of Baghdad and אגפיה in pocket format. The title page states that it includes afternoon and evening prayers for the entire year month by month, Shabbat by Shabbat, with the introduction of Elijah the prophet, Shir ha-Shirim, and some dinim necessary for everyone at all times. It is printed anew with attractive and clear letters and with great care on strong white paper. The verso has Cyrillic printing, the censor’s approval and press information. The volumen begins with the halakhot of Minhah, the prayer of Elijah, and then afternoon services. It concludes with Birkhat ha-Mazon.

That this volume was printed in Vilna is of particular note, for in 1888, the year following its publication, Huzin (1843–1892), a scholar, poet, author, journalist, bookseller, and communal worker, founded a new press in Baghdad by. He brought his printing letters from Leghorn, Italy. Besides prayer books, he also printed many books which he considered useful to the members of his community.
