Description
   A student of the Yeshiva in Pressburg of R. Simcha Bunem Sofer, the Shevet Sofer, writes to his uncle, R. Menahem Pollak, the rabbi of his hometown asking for his assistance and guidance in filling a rabbinical vacancy which job requirements include fluency in German. The young student, who signs his name Wolf, writes "if necessary I will try to obtain permission from my esteemed teacher, the Rabbi of Pressburg, to sit for a photograph."
