כתב מה'ר חיים ראבינוביץ
This listing is an independent item not part of any collection
Postcard, 90:137 mm., light age staining, neat Ashkenazic script, signed and dated. Rare - very little survives of this great sage.
A Mazel Tov blessing to a disciple in Hebron by R. Hayyim Shalom Tovia Rabinovic (1860-1931), sage, Talmudic scholar, and Rosh Yeshiva. Commonly referred to as Reb Chaim Telzer, he was Rosh Yeshiva in Slobodka and subsequently in Telz for many years. No work on Lithuanian Jewry is complete without Reb Chaim - unfortunately, no one has to date written a biography of this illustrious sage. Thousands of students and colleagues listened to his lectures - which became the Telzer method of learning. His teachings survive in the notes and works of his disciples and colleagues. His son R. Azriel Rabinovic (1900-1941) perished in the Holocaust.
