A proselyte from a foreign land, Judah Kraussbass, writes the community leaders of Keszthely seeking financial assistance. He states that he has worked in the town at the home of the Hazan for a year and a half and has taken ill. He has no means of support and desperately needs funds to buy medications. On the verso, is a signed and dated statement of the community head assigning the case and allocating funds to support the ill man.

Keszthely, town in Hungary, Jews are recorded in Keszthely as early as 1711, a community, however, did not develop until the end of the century. The first synagogue was erected in 1780 and refurbished 30 years later.
