Flier addressing the controversial continued appointment of Herr Expräses Wilhelm Reich. The leader states that it is An die verehrte Mitglieder unsere Cultusgemeinde (To the admired members our Community. The text, in German, has occasional Hebrew, such as the quote “the Holy One, blessed be He, weeps over three . . . on a parnas who exalts himself over the community” (Hagigah 5b). It calls for a private discussion of the issues at hand, which deals with the National Orthodox community. In resolving the issue it also quotes, “And you shall come to the priests the Levites, and to the judge who shall be in those days, and inquire; and they shall declare to you the sentence of judgment. And you shall do according to the sentence, which they of that place which the Lord shall choose shall declare to you; and you shall take care to do according to all that they inform you” (Deuteronomy 17:9-10). At the bottom of the second page is an extract from a responsa, entirely in Hebrew, from Zicharon Yehudah by R. Judah Gruenwald, the Satmer Oberrabbiner. This responsa deals with the correct manner in which a rav should be selected.
