Paragraph 1    A proclamtion from the Bet Din for all of the Ashkenzaic commmunities in Jerusalem, under the presidency of R. Zvi Pesah Frank.

There is an echo of saber rattling...on the skies of our Holy Land are now passing dark clouds...we have no one to rely on other that Our Father in Heaven..and therefore it is our holy obligation to cry out, to shout to pray and to implore [G-d] who had the power and the might...

Thursday, the 28th day of Menahem Av, 5718 [August 14, 1958], is designated to be a day of prayer and crying out to G-d.The poster mentions that after the morning Shemona Esrei, the Avenu Malkenu prayer is to be added, and in the afternoon, people should gather in synagogues for the reciting of Psalms and the prayers of a Yom Kippur Katan.

The declaration is signed by R, Eliyahu Romm, R. Avraham Dovid Rosenthal and R. Shraga Feivel Frank. A postscript is signed by R. Zvi Pesah Frank.
