The book begins with the Babylonian exile and concludes with descriptions of various Jewish communities, such as Paras, Cush, and paragraphs on the Alliance Israel and Le Baron de Hirsch.
R. Joseph ben David Genasiyah (1879-1962) served as dayyan in the city of Katzmatina, first serving under the dayyan R. Nissim Alush. R. Genasiyah was considered among the foremost translators of sifrei kodesh, both Torah she-be-ktav and ba’al peh of western Jewry. He was responsible for one hundred thirty works encompassing the Bible, mishnayot, the Rif, Rambam, prayer books, as well as additional titles.In 1962 R. Genasiyah mad aliyah to Eretz Israel, settling in Dimona where he passed away.
