Description Information
Broadside. 343:250 mm., light age staining, creased on folds.
Harshly critical public protest against the mixing of men and women at social events. The broadside begins that it is a public announcement to the holy people of Israel concerning the breach that has occurred in recent times at the huppa at weddings. Men and women mix at that time, which is totally prohibited. It is a mitzvah to protest and to put an end to that practice. The prohibition of men and women mixing, standing together, falls within boundaries of the severe sin of forbidden relations. The broadside continues that this evil must be removed from our pure society, to fulfill the parameters of holiness at the time of the huppa. For the groom, the time of huppa is equivalent to Yom Kippur, it is an exalted moment. Our sages emphasized the holiness of this moment. The broadside quotes from the Hafetz Hayyim’s Ahavat Hesed, and continues in the same vein. It is signed with the approval of the Rabbanim.
