Detailed
Description
The poster uses Biblical phrases from the prophets to describe the times they are in. They are calling on everyone who lives in Eretz Israel to recognize that the present condition is threatening.

"We should return to the Torah of Hashem and remove from our midst and from our streets the profaning of the Sabbath and the holidays...and remove the spiritual impurity [from our family life] and the non-kosher forbidden foods from our homes and our tables...that they bring with them a curse....Let us return to Hashem ...and He will sustain us...and with the repentance we are calling all to join in a day of fasting and prayer...to rid war from our world and to return peace, truth...to out world and our nation in all the lands where they have been scattered and in our Holy Land.

The poster then gives a listing of the order of prayers and their times beginning on the fourth day of Iyar. The fast is being called for Monday, the 8th day of Iyar. In the morning...one should go to the graves of the Tzaddikim and to the Western Wall, and at 4 in the afternoon we shoudl gather in the central synagogues...for the recitation of Psalms and Selichot, until evening, and after the Maariv serivce, the Blessing of the Moon should be recited.

This poster is signed by the Chief Rabbinate of Israel, R. Ben Zion Meir Hai Uziel, president.

Ben-Zion Meir Hai Uziel (1880-1953) was the Sephardi chief rabbi of the British Mandate of Palestine from 1939 to 1948, and of Israel from 1948 to 1953.
