Eye witness account of the tragic death of ninety three Jewish girls attending seminary in the ghetto of Cracow on 3 Menahem Av 5702 (Friday, July 17, 1942). The booklet begins with a forward to the reader, two letters from Hannah Weiss dated 24 Nissan 5707 (Monday, April 14, 1947) concerning the publication of this material. Events at the seminary and how the girls sanctified the name of G-d are described (5-14), the bequest of the 93 kedoshim (15), photographs of Sarah Schnirer (founder of the Beit Yaakov school system) and the girls in the seminary (16-17). This is followed by paragraphs from journals (18-23), the first, from ha-Aretz, beginning the testimony of 93 girls, daughters of Israel in Poland, who chose death rather than a life of shame. There are further letters from Hannah Weiss, Yiddish text, and two photos of Beit Yaakov girls in Tel Aviv. The booklet concludes with an essay, From Cracow to Tel Aviv. The prayers and conduct of the 93 seminary girls make this an unusual and inspiring piece of holocaust literature.
