R. Isaiah b. Abraham Dov Karlinsky (1877-1945) was born in Zembrawa into a family of noted talmudical scholars. He studied in Radun, Kovna, and Slabodka before serving in the rabbinate of several cities in Russia and the Lita. He emigrated to the United States in 1924 and was appointed to head the Agudat Harabbonim, the oldest organization of Orthodox rabbis in the U.S. which was founded in 1902. His works have not been published.
