Description
   Kabbalistic commentary on the taryag (613) mizvot. The title page has a decorative frame and states that it is a commentary based on remez (allusion) by R. Isaac ben Zevi Hirsch Sachs, who was rav of the community if שקוד and it is now many years since he went up to the heavenly mesivta. Peri Yizhak was brought to press by the author’s son, Shabbeti Shephtel. Below the Hebrew text is publication information in Cyrillic. The verso of the title page has the censor’s approval in Cyrillic. There is an approbation form R. Abraham Avli ben Abraham Solomon, R. Zevi Hirsch of Brod, R. Dov Baer ben Nathan Nata, R. Aaron ben Bezalel, and R. Jekutiel Zalman ben Mordecai Segal. R. Isaac’s introduction follows, and then the text, which is in a single column in rabbinic letters, except for headers and initial words which hare in square letters. The text is arranged according to the limbs of the body, the mizvot being divided into 248 positive commandments representing the equal number of limbs in the body and 365 negative commandments representing that number of sinews in the body. Peri Yizhak is arranged in columns by the number of a mizvot, the negative commandment, the positive commandment, and the limb. Individual sections, representing parts of the body, have their own introdcutions.
