Description Information
   [16], 548 pp., 200:140 mm., light age ataining, wide margins, small hole in initial 8 ff. with old repair. A good copy bound in contemporary full leather boards, ruled in blind, spine in compartments.
   Antonio Perez (1539-1611), Marrano lawyer, for some years the first favourite, confidant and Secretary of State of Philip II of Spain and afterwards for many more the object of his unrelenting hostility. Perez fell into disvafour, was pursued for high treason and fled to Saragossa. Its inhabitants protected him by force of arms and he succeeded to escape. Philip however, sent out his army to punish Aragon.
